The bansuri is a traditional side-blown bamboo flute from India, used in both classical and folk music. It typically has six or seven finger holes and produces a warm, expressive tone with a wide dynamic range. Historically associated with pastoral and devotional themes, it remains a central instrument in Indian musical culture.
