JBL SCS12 Spatially Cued Surround 12″ Cinema Loudspeaker
The SCS12 is a professional-grade surround loudspeaker engineered for precise spatial imaging and controlled coverage in multi-channel recording monitoring and mixing environments. Its coaxial driver design delivers seamless integration into surround arrays, making it an ideal reference tool for mixing cinematic sound design, Dolby Atmos productions, and immersive audio sessions where accurate surround placement is essential.
Driver & Power Handling
This 2-way system pairs a 300 mm (12 in) woofer with Kevlar-reinforced cone and 75 mm (3 in) voice coil alongside a 25 mm (1 in) compression driver featuring a patented design and high-temperature polymer diaphragm. The speaker handles 400 watts average continuous pink noise, with rated capacity of 250 W RMS for 100 hours or 400 W RMS for 2 hours, delivering reliable performance during extended mixing and monitoring sessions.
Coverage & Acoustic Performance
A 100° × 100° broadband pattern control ensures consistent directivity across the frequency spectrum, critical for surround monitoring where precise spatial cuing must remain uniform across the mix position. The system achieves a peak SPL of 128 dB at 3.3 feet within a frequency range of 55 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), providing articulate dialogue reproduction and accurate surround effects rendering without tonal coloration.
